Ethiopia, officially the “Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia” is a sovereign and landlocked country in the Horn of Africa. The area of modern Ethiopia is the place where one of the earliest humans originated. Tools, human skulls and other excavations of remains dating back to approx. 200,000 years ago. English is widely used for educational, communication and foreign purposes. Christianity is one of the largest religion in the country with followers approx. 63%. (according to 2007 census). Ethiopian Empire in adopted Christianity as a religion in the 4th century and one of the first state in history to do so. Islam is the second largest religion in the world accounting for 34% of the total population. Islam reached the region in 622 when a group of Muslims took asylum in the kingdom.
