Jharkhand is an Indian state located in the Eastern part of the country. The state was once part of Southern Bihar but carved out from it in 2000. The state is famous for its extensive forests, waterfalls, and wildlife.

One of the main issue faced by the state is Naxalite-Maoist insurgency. Naxalites are a group of far-left radical communists. The conflict started in 1967 when the group began its active operations throughout the state. Their hideouts are difficult to trace due to dense forests.

There are several events of clashes between the government and Naxalites. Also, the police and army launched several operations but till now, no complete result achieved. The main target of the group is government officials, government installments, police and often civilians.

The geography of the state features a number of hill ranges rivers, waterfalls, forest, and wildlife. Majority of the area of the state is covered by dense forests. The state is also famous for its wildlife especially elephants and tigers.

There is also a number of wildlife parks and reserves. It can also be a good spot for local and foreign tourists but due to improper facilities and insurgency, people don’t take a proper interest in visiting the area.

Hindi is the official language of the state. Later, Urdu was also added as an additional official language. Hindi is spoken by 57.56% of the total population. Other languages include Urdu, Santali, Bengali, Mundari, and Ho.
