Vastu Shastra Tips for Bathroom | Toilet | Lavatory | Powder Room | Comfort station | SubhaVaastu.com:
Vaasthu Shastra Tips for Bathrooms | Toilets | Lavatory: In olden days our elders plan to provide bathrooms or toilets at outside of our Home, yet in more villages most of the villagers are not interested to build the bathrooms at inside the House.
There is a good reason for their idea. Because bathroom means dirt or "dust cleaning area" and toilet means discharging our digestion stuff and it has western commode too.
So they never accommodate these rooms inside of the home and further these toilets and bathrooms may create bad smells and consequently they cause to ill-health. Those days they don't have exhaust fans and western commodes either Indian style or Western style. So cleaning is a consequential challenge in those days.
Now our living style is different and we don't have much space to provide bathrooms at outside.
Furthermore, we are constructing everything in one roof because of place problem, we don't have the plentiful spacious area to built with all amenities. Now we are living in one apartment flats instead of living in individual homes.
We cannot expect the future, maybe our next generations may have to live in only one room (Just like in Dubai), or 2 portions in one room also including all along with bathrooms. It may also happen, please wait.
Apartment life is very common for us. But in some fast developing cities, only in one Flat, there are 3 families in three bedrooms. All together uses one kitchen by placing their utensils at each corner.
This system was very familiar in Dubai. We personally have seen many of such living styles in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, etc.
In Sharjah we observed one apartment, here each floor has many rooms just like Flat. Each room is having its own toilet. No other extra place for keeping anything in that room, inhabitants using the room for sleeping, pooja, kitchen, toilet, balcony, etc and for everything.
There is no other place for them to keep the wet cloths to dry. Both should be live in one room only. Can't have space for balcony, very painful. What next in the future. One room may be shared by two or three families. One family may be in lower and one is at middle and third family may be upper just like in train berths, what happens to our mankind.
It's only because of listless growth in population. Is Vastu applicable for only one room. Yes, we must observe the entrance door and location of the toilet.
If the room is North Facing then the toilet or bathroom may be best suitable towards Northwest or Southeast.
If the room is facing towards West direction then Bathroom has to come towards Southeast.
If the room is facing towards South facing then the toilet may be placed towards Northwest direction.
Bathrooms are placed at some corners like Southeast (Agneya) and Northwest (Vayavya), but the Southwest (Southwest block) (Nairuthi) and Northeast (Eshan or Ishan) corner more space have to come, the inhabitant should be live only at Southwest area.
Some principles are there how to leave space at Southwest or Northeast etc has to get advice from one expert vastu consultant. He guides exact dimensions after visiting the property or he may direct you by knowing your specific question.
Generally, the Southwest toilet or bathroom may not provide good results to the residents, so don't plan toilets at Southwest corners, or don't take the room which has the toilet at Southwest or Northeast.
When the toilet/bathroom at South direction then observe the flooring levels and it should have upper than the flooring at remaining house flooring. Southwest should be more elevated than this South toilet bathroom floor level.
At West direction bathrooms flooring should have upper than the flooring at remaining house flooring, except Southwest
At East direction bathrooms flooring should have lower than the flooring at remaining house flooring.
At North direction bathrooms flooring should have lower than the flooring at remaining house flooring.
At East and North direction bathrooms if the flooring is elevated than the remaining part of the house then the used water may enter into the house, (matter from www.subhavaastu.com) so we have to placed or construct one small obstructive dais kind. Better to have the lower level floors when toilets are at East or North directions
At South and West side directions bathrooms the windows must be smaller in size is good.
At East and Northside direction bathrooms the windows must be as bigger as possible, residents have to check the privacy concerns at their end.
The door must be at right place according to Vastu Shastra. For East and North facing rooms, then the door should be at a Northeast position. For West facing the door should be at Northwest-west or West and South facing rooms, the door should be towards Southeast-South or South directions
Particularly at Northwest and Southeast corners bathrooms we must have to take full care in placing the doors. These doors must be placed at correct places according to Vaasthu shastra. For example for the Southeast corner toilet, the Northeast-north or North door is so helpful. Or you may place Western Northwest door is also good. For Northwest toilet the Northeast-east door is very good, if not possible the second best is Southeast-south is the ideal one.
You can place the bathroom at Northeast corner, but you must have to take suggestion before placing at this corner from an experienced vastu master.
Generally, we never recommend the toilets at Northeast corner, somebody may require the only bathroom at NE corner then by seeing all other things and come out from obstructions and rejections then only may Plan at Northeast on some serious circumstances. Usually, we never recommend toilets in Northeast. Most of the times it may too harm to the entire home.
For any bathroom don’t place the door to go outside, (Except outside Southeast and Northwest toilets) if it's very really obliged, then after discussing with one good experienced Vastu Consultant, (this matter is from www.subhavaastu.com) then only you may plan. Please note that doors plays a vital role in Vaasthu shastra. Don’t forget about doors.

Is It Ok To Have Bathroom As Soon As We Enter The House As Per Vastu?
In general, this feature is not good. But this system is very very common in USA, UK, and some states in Australia, Switzerland, etc. Coming with an Indian elder's voice, when we enter into home, we need to see only the most auspicious things first, like a good photo, Godly images, designs, living room, etc. Whereas some elders say, bathroom is good to have after entering into the home, this is only to clean the legs. Some orthodox families still, like to have water bodies very near to main entrance doors. This could be very easy to wash the legs of visitors and house inhabitants to enter into home.
Coming with USA homes, they never have such ideas to clean the legs when entering into homes. They used to have this only to go for toiletry functions. This may be useful for their climatical conditions. Most of the homes at New Jersey, New York, Rhodes Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and Detroit, etc.
If a mistake is followed by only one resident, it may be wrong, if many followed the same, then it will be distributed all. No worries at all. Finally, don't worry on this toilet/bathroom which is next to main entrance door at other countries.
If a bathroom or toilet is next to main door in any home then we have to enquire in which city and where is that house, in which city, how many homes has such feature, everything we need to consider. Without knowing these facts one should not come the final decision.

I have consulted Suresh Garu during December 2014 during the process of buying a house in Texas, USA. I have occupied the house for one year now, and feel like dropping a review regarding my experience during the entire process. I am very much satisfied with the kind of service I received from him. He is very knowledgeable and I was often stunned by his detailed analysis during the course of my interaction with him. He was very much accessible over phone (perhaps more than 10 times for one house plan!) and the price is very much reasonable especially compared with the cost of the house. I noticed his burning desire to help me in making informed decisions on certain things. I have seen some people pretending to know this subject and misguiding those who come for help by saying only what we want to hear. SubhaVaastu is definitely not that one. Finally, I am strong believer of leaving certain things to experts in those subjects. I have been in US for more than 13 years and have seen people doing their own corrections (by reading website articles) trying to save few dollars. Please don’t do that. You would end up in causing more damage. I highly recommend you to engage SubhaVaastu in your next project - Satish - Dallas - TX - USA
